SodaStream 3Q net income slips on charges

SodaStream International Inc., which makes soda-making machines for the home, said Monday its third-quarter net income slipped 16 percent, hurt by charges.. For July through September, SodaStream said net income declined to 2.1 million euros ($2.8 million) from 2.5 million euros in the year-ago quarter.. Excluding a one-time charge related to the cancellation of a management fee agreement with Fortissimo Capital, SodaStream said earnings would have increased 52 percent to 3.9 million euros ($5.4 million).. Revenue jumped 52 percent to 42 million euros ($57.1 million) from 26.7 million euros in the same period last year. SodaStream said it sold 449,000 soda makers during the quarter, a 57 percent increase from a year earlier.
